Albany

Oregon’s Albany is the county seat of Linn County, with some parts across the Willamette River in Benton County. Long the smaller neighbor of Corvallis in the Mid Valley, Albany has nearly surpassed Corvallis in population as it has undergone relatively rapid growth as it stretches south along Interstate 5 towards Oregon 34.

 

The city was once home to what is now Lewis & Clark College and once had an annual Timber Carnival. It now is home to part of the National Energy Technology Laboratory, which is located at the old campus of the college.
